Four factors to consider in screen printing process selection

1. Resolution of silk screen processed images: fine silk diameter, high mesh count, high resolution. The wire diameter is thick, and the resolution is low when the mesh number is low. However, the higher the number of meshes is, the better. Too high will result in insufficient ink output caused by screen printing, resulting in chipping or damage. At the same time, under the same mesh size, pay attention to the effect of the wire diameter. The width or dot diameter of the finest lines that can be reproduced by the two types of wire mesh is: L> 2d + w, d is the wire diameter, and W is the opening. Hole width. When d> W, the opening area of the screen is small, which affects the fluidity of the ink, and causes the threads or dots to become jagged or imprinted, damaged, and the screen printing process number is too high, which will cause the printing result to be the same Net-like phenomenon.

Generally speaking, silk screens with screen openings larger than the diameter of the screen can reproduce higher resolution than screens with screens smaller than the diameter of the screen. So pay attention to the following points when selecting a network;

A. The larger the mesh / wire diameter value, the better

B. The smaller the contact area between the printing surface and the substrate, the better

C. In order to meet the resolution requirements, the wire diameter of the screen and the width of the opening must meet a certain relationship

D. In order to meet the printing requirements, the relationship between wire diameter and ultimate tension needs to be considered

2. Ink layer thickness and covering rate For thick ink and good covering rate, a thick net and a large hole net (HD class) should be selected.

3. The screen material should be selected according to the surface condition of the substrate: curved or undulated surfaces should be made of flexible nylon mesh, and the surface with strong absorption should be selected with a large amount of ink; a smooth surface should use a high-tension screen ; Use a low-mesh screen for rough surfaces; use static-proof screens for insulating surfaces.

4. Ink performance requirements: Select the appropriate ink screen according to the performance of the ink.

5. Preservation conditions for silk screen processing: Dry at room temperature, avoid ultraviolet or strong light, and lay it flat on a smooth surface.
